Marymount leads local Heat Watch project to detect extreme temperatures

July 20, 2021

Marymount University students, faculty and more than 2 "community scientists" set out across Northern Virginia to understand where residents are most at risk during extreme heat. 

​

This was one of the first times I was able to use a GoPro camera for filming and it was incredibly useful. It made such a difference when filming inside a moving vehicle and allowed me to capture more unique angles.

Global Engagement During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This is one of the last stories I covered as a WDVM News reporter.
For one Frederick family, success meant escaping the challenges of poverty and financial uncertainty. It’s taken three years and a lot of resources and guidance to go from public housing to fulfilling a dream of homeownership.

Retired man still working on documenting forgotten history of African Americans

July 5, 2018

I didn't initially intend to cover this story but after meeting David Wallace in an unknown part of a Frederick library, I'm so happy I did. 
For the last three years, David Wallace has spent six days of the week in the Maryland Room at the C. Burr Artz Library digging through dozens of reels of archived documents.
